Girls' Day 2010 - girls' day of the future at ib vogt
22 April marked the tenth Girls' Day, the largest and most diverse event on career guidance for girls.
Berlin, April 2010 - On Thursday 22 April, this year's tenth Girls' Day took place on the premises of the vogt group in Berlin Charlottenburg.
For the fourth time, ib vogt used this event to give young girls and women insight into the company and the various areas of activity within the company.
In addition to running through the individual jobs, the girls were introduced to career opportunities for women in an engineering office and its specific work areas along with the challenges, opportunities and possibilities associated with them.
The participants, who all came from the Berlin area, were also given specific tasks to perform this year. This included testing their spatial vision in a 3-D vision screening, folding plans and assigning tasks to individual project stages.
"We have a personal interest in giving young women this perspective, to give them a first impression that makes them want to know more." (Dagmar Vogt, CEO vogt group SE)
And all the girls wanted to know more. Following the event, all the girls were unanimous in their opinion that they could see themselves working in the field which they learned about or at least doing an internship.
The girls' assessments of occupations in engineering, information technology and the natural sciences in the subsequent survey were overwhelmingly positive.
This year, Girls' Day at ib vogt was again an interesting and sustainable way to provide the girls access and insight into the subject matter.
